The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force reported that the incident occurred approximately a mile off the coast of Petit Nevis, with the plane en route to St. Lucia before experiencing difficulties and plummeting into the ocean.
The U.S. State Department confirmed that pilot Robert Sachs was also an American, and representatives for Oliver expressed their condolences in a statement to CBS News, stating that their “thoughts and prayers are with him, his two daughters, and his family.”
Local fishermen and divers swiftly responded to the crash site, recovering the bodies and transferring them to the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard. Despite the efforts, a medical practitioner confirmed the tragic news that all four individuals on board had lost their lives.
